Year End Breed Awards Each Year, the Dressage Association of Southern California presents awards to high performing horses in a variety of breed categories. All horses are eligible for these awards, using the following criteria: r Horse, rider and owner must be current DASC members in good standing at the time the scores are earned. r Horse nomination fee ($10/year or $50/life) must be paid before the scores are earned. r Horse must have registration papers on file to be eligible for specific breed awards. Horses without papers on file can compete in the Grey Poupon and Heinz 57 division. r Horses must earn six (6) scores from at least three (3) judges – median score is the center score or the average of two center scores if total is an even number. Scores can be earned by multiple riders in any division (AA/JR/O) at multiple levels. The breed divisions are: Arabian Half-Arabian American Warmblood (AWR/AWS) Danish Warmblood Dutch Warmblood Friesian Hanoverian Holsteiner Iberian (Lippizan, Andalusian, Lusitano) Morgan Pony (USEF measurement card required) Quarter Horse Swedish Warmblood Thoroughbred Trakehner Westfalen Grey Poupon Award: Given to the highest median score horse that has registration papers ON FILE in the DASC office, but is not one of the breeds listed above. Heinz 57 Award: Given to the highest median score horse that does not have any verifiable registration papers whatsoever. This can be any breed. ** Horses may only compete in one breed division per year, even if they have papers from multiple registries.
