I have been an active DASC member for three years, and have served on the DASC Board for one year. As a frequent competitor and volunteer at local shows, I stay connected to the happenings in our local dressage community and I look forward to bringing energy and ideas to our organization.
Lita Dove for Treasurer
I have always loved horses. After Pony Club, foxhunting, polo and eventing, I found dressage working for Hilda Gurney. I started the Moorpark Pony Club and our riders were successful up through national level. I've trained a few horses through FEI, one throughGP, and started LOTS -- but remember each one of them. Hilda made dressage accessible to anyone with a dream and some determination-- and I hope to always have this be a reality.
Executive Director Nominees:
Shirin Amier, Moorpark, CA
Shirin Amier is an accomplished FEI Trainer and Silver Medalist, winning numerous year-end awards from First through FEI levels. She utilizes her experience to run Storyteller Dressage; a training & sales barn in Ventura County, CA. She is trained through Grand Prix and has ridden with such notable trainers (both in the USA and Germany) as “O” Judge, Linda Zang, Walter Zettl, Kalman de Jurnek, Karl Mikolka, Heike Kemmer and Albrecht Heidemman. Additionally, she was chosen by Scott Hassler and Harmony Sporthorses in 2007 to be sponsored for the Young Dressage Horse Trainers Program. Shirin has spent the last 10 years developing young horses, teaching juniors, amateurs and professionals, and conducting clinics around the country. Ms. Amier’s goal is to continue to help riders fulfill their ambitions through educational opportunities, honest horse/rider pairings and riding programs.
Lehua Custer, Moorpark, CA
Lehua Custer has been riding since she was 9 years old. She is currently the assistant trainer at Keenridge Farms and trains horses from un-broke through FEI levels. She is an "L" graduate and currently participating in the "r" judging program. Lehua is a USDF bronze & silver medalist and is earning scores towards her gold. She regularly participates in competitions both locally and throughout California. Lehua was a junior board member of her local equestrian organizations while growing up in Hawaii and is excited to participate in the growth of dressage in California
Denise Bergem Kash, Newbury Park, CA
I was born and raised in the Conejo Valley, currently living in Newbury Park and currently I am a Marketing Manager for a company based out of Ventura. Prior to riding dressage, I was actively showing in the hunter circuit for 12 years. Was introduced into Dressage 2 ½ years ago and fell in love with it. As a new comer to this sport, DASC has helped make my riding and show experiences wonderful. As a DASC board member, I want to help this origination grow and continue to offer wonderful opportunities and experiences to new and fellow members.
Lynn la Caze, Ramona, CA
Lynn la Caze has been a DASC member since 1997 and served on the DASC board from 2005-2008, leaving the board in 2009 for family reasons. Lynn believes DASC provides an important alternative for amateur owners dealing with multiple demands in life. Lynn is an RN and lives with her husband, their 5 horses and 4 dogs in rural Ramona, CA. Lynn will continue to work to maximize DASC show and educational opportunites in the San Diego area.
Kerstin Laudemann, Camarillo, CA
I grew up in Germany and came to the US in 1996, where I continued to ride competitively, up through the levels through I1. I now work as a project manager at a pharmaceutical company and I am very interested in working on the board for DASC to help making DASC more appealing for competitive riders as well as non competitiveriders. Having ridden in Germany, I can bring the knowledge of the German show system as well as the US show system to the table to help making the DASC shows more interesting for riders of all levels.
Kim Rawl Elliot, Playa Del Rey, CA
When I saw International Velvet as a young girl, I was inspired to train my western Quarter Horse for Eventing. Thirty years later, I still maintain my childhood passion for Dressage and horses. (I also still have that QH). I've competed in Western Equitation and Pleasure, Halter, Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing, and Dressage. I believe that dressage is for every horse, whatever breed, discipline, or conformation. Currently, I own six horses of various breeds, two I've had since foals. They all jump, go on trails, and do dressage. There is nothing better in the world than to ride a good dressage test on a good horse.
